What are stories? The recounting of tales and legends, great enough in their own time to inspire remembrance, now gone yet treasured? Are they the means by which we, as a society of adapters and learners, realize the wisdom of the past, the vision of the spirit, or the cleverness of the mind? Are they vehicles of the imagination, carting would be travelers to far away lands, introducing them to men of action, women of intrigue and guile, and villains both sympathetic and cruel, placing them in situations which would delight the heart or chill the soul? If so, then I must conclude that to hear a story is, in a way, to live the human experience
